2023

Well, obviously, we have a new website, as Webs.com is a thing of the past.

We also have a new cd that just came out Nov 19th on the Cuneiform label, our first non-self-released cd. Uncle Steve has been doing a bang-up job making sure this cd falls into the right hands, making a Cuneiform tell-all book unlikely at this point. French TV all-star and founding member Fenner Castner returns to the fold on drums for this one, much to my delight! Order here:

It’s official–I’m knee-deep in bucket list territory. French TV has recorded a load of late 60’s-early 70s cover tunes (all deep cuts) that are in various degrees of completion. Tunes include The Kinks “20th Century Man”; Mountain “Nantucket Sleighride”, Procol Harum “Dead Man’s Dream”, Spirit “Fresh Garbage”, Traffic “Freedom Rider”,  J. Geils Band “Funky Judge”; The Guess Who “Goin’ A Little Crazy”; Rory Gallagher “A Million Miles Away”; Iron Butterfly “Butterfly Bleu”; James Gang “Take A look Around”; and Steppenwolf “Renegade”. This was the period when music REALLY smacked me upside the head and laid the groundwork for all that came later for me, and I’ve felt the urge for quite awhile to honor that stuff before it dissipates into whatever void the stuff we treasure ends up. This batch of tunes would be included as a bonus cd for FTV16—about which…..

There are plans to record the next French TV album in northern Spain next summer with my dear friend Luis Arnaldo—details to come.

Patrick Strawser and I recently did a lengthy 2+hour interview with the always excellent Tom Gagliardi on his long-running “GAGLIARCHIVES” radio program, in which I set a new world record for the recorded use of the phrase “uh, you know, uh…”.
